The enlargements and reductions of wetsuits represent about 4% of our operations: a rare case but one that sometimes saves wetsuits!
It’s not easy to find a wetsuit that fits perfectly on the first try. Depending on the brand, the size guides are not always the same. For example, an ML size from Oxbow corresponds to an M size from Vissla. Some brands even recommend taking one size smaller than usual to ensure a good fit.
Shortening a neoprene wetsuit
Do you have a wetsuit that’s just a bit too big? A good idea might be to shorten it in a few places to make it fit perfectly. Overall, if you need to shorten everything, it is recommended to change wetsuits, but if you feel it’s only too big in areas like the arms, for example, we can offer to remove a few centimeters there.
Ultimately, we can shorten a wetsuit on the limbs, but not at the hips or torso.
Enlarging a neoprene wetsuit
In this case, it’s more complicated. In any case, not all modifications are possible. It may be possible to add material to the limbs, but it is not possible to add surface area to the hips or torso.
